From the 26th to the 28th of November 2014, the head of Juvenile and pre-sentence probation Service,Central Probation Office, Aliona GIRBU, and the main probation counsellor from the Probation Office Ciocana, Paul CIOBANU, were involved in the project "Strengthening of the probation system in the Republic of Moldova".The development of thisproject took place in Riga, held thanks to funding by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Latvia.
Within the project was organized the workshop on developing of the Recommendations by the State Probation Service of Latvia to strengthen the probation system in Moldova. The workshop was conducted by the head of probation programs, project coordinator "Strengthening of the probation system in the Republic of Moldova",Jelena CININA.
The undertaken activity aimed at - increasing the interstate interaction in strengthening the Moldovan probation system by developing a reference system in the field. Proceeding from the purpose of the workshop was stipulated the following main objectives:
1. Solutions to overcome the difficulties in preparing the evaluation reports.
2. Solutions to overcome the problems of sanction with community service within the probation body.
During the two days of training, the participants were included in two workshops: Pre-sentence Probation: legal aspects, impact of the quantity and quality of the report; Community service - criminal sanction. Current situation and recommendations.
As a result of the workshop, the Latvian experts and project managers, Alexandra KERN, Ieva SVIKE and Ilona LINDE will develope the Recommendation on strengthening the probation system in the Republic of Moldova.
