Today, January 17th, 2015, within the Central Probation Office took place the balance sheet meeting of the probation system activity for 2014. The meeting was opened by the Head of the Central Probation Office, Vladimir POPA, who thanked those present for their efforts submitted during 2014.
During the meeting, there were discussed the objectives achieved and obstacles encountered by the probation system during the year.
As a result of the activity of the probation system for 2014, were obtained as follows:
• conducting of trainings of the probation counsellors, conducted by the Academy of Public Administration; National Institute of Justice; EU Project "Support to coordinate justice reform in Moldova", together with the Norwegian Mission to Moldova "NORLAM" and experts from Romania and experts from Riga, Latvia;
• implementation of the Pilot – project on psychosocial support at the presentence stage in 14 of the probation offices (probation offices of Ciocana - Chisinau mun., Rascani - Chisinau mun., Anenii Noi, Balti, Cahul, Comrat, Criuleni, Drochia, Leova, Rezina, Rascani Nord, Soldanesti, Taraclia, Vulcanesti);
• implementation of the Pilot – project "Prevention of juvenile violence" developed by the probation offices of Ciocana - Chisinau mun., Rascani - Chisinau mun., Botanica - Chisinau mun., Buiucani - Chisinau mun., Center - Chisinau mun., Balti, Glodeni, Floresti, Soroca, Nisporeni, Ungheni;
• developing the vocational programs for minors „ Calea spre succes”;
• signing of the collaboration agreements with the NGO "Miracle"; Police Inspectorate; Border Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; Community Mental Health Center; Youth Friendly Health Centre "Neovita"; the National Council for State Guaranteed Legal Aid; State University "A. Russo";
• in order to prevent the offenses among juveniles, were held with the involvement of the community actors, the following: cultural and leisure activities - 66 minors; tourist activities (excursions) - 93 minors; preventive educational activities (lessons) within the educational institutions – 73, lessons with the participation of 2333 pupils.
• creation of the social rehabilitation center for persons released from criminal punishment in Moldova in Floresti city;
• drafting, amending and supplementing the Law No. 8 on probation of 14.02.2008, Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Enforcement Code, Contravention Code, Law no. 48 on civil service pay system of 22.03.2012.
Also, during the balance sheet meeting, Vladimir POPA, appreciated the activity of the Probation Office of Stefan-Voda, Dubasari, Straseni, Calarasi and the Probation Activity monitoring Directorate, the Financial Economic Directorate and the Logistics Directorate for best performance recorded during the year and has offered them diplomas.
