On 17th February 2015, the head of the Probation Office Straseni, Galina GANEA, and the probation counsellor, Olimpia ROTARI, conducted an informative lesson entitled "Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency" within the boarding school from Straseni. This activity was attended by 51 pupils from the IXth and VIIIth classes, the psychologist - Svetlana AXENTI, the IXth class teacher – Natalia CERCEL, and the VIIIth class teacher - Lucia BALTAGA.
The aim of the educational activity was to inform the pupils about the factors that generate the juvenile delinquency, emphasizing the importance of community support to reduce the causes of delinquent behaviour among minors, so that we to have a more responsible and actively involved society in prevention at the local level.
Galina GANEA reported that the juvenile delinquency is a part of crime, being a deviant phenomenon, manifested by the inability of juvenile / adolescent to adapt to the rules of conduct within the society. This inability is due to reasons of the bio-psycho-social order. The specific causes of the juvenile delinquency emergence are: the influence of adult offenders on minors by determining them to commit antisocial acts, the lack of useful activities, lack of permanent supervision by parents and the lack of links between family and school.
He also mentioned the negative impact that influence on minors, drinking and drugs, juvenile delinquency prevention methods by involving teachers in education and extra-curricular activities.
The children were actively involved in discussion, being impressed by the lesson conducted by the probation counsellors, where they learned how they should contribute in order not to commit antisocial acts.
Also children have been notified about the activity of the Youth Friendly Health Centre "Pro - Salva", where they can get free advice from a psychologist, gynaecologist, paediatrician, etc.
