On March 26th 2015, the probation counsellors, judges, prosecutors and the police officers met within the court of Taraclia in order to discuss the process of drawing up the presentence report of psychosocial assessment, and establishing risk assessment process of relapse.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the duties of the probation counsellors and law enforcement bodies at the presentence phase. The probation counsellor shall prepare the assessment report containing relevant information and objective analysis of them; it can help the judge in deciding the cause, favouring a better knowledge of the defendant in terms of psychosocial aspects and its opportunities to reintegrate in society, using this information to the individualization of the sentence. The assessment report shall be submitted at the request of the judge, prosecutor or investigating officer for subsequent delivery by the court of an objective sentence.
Within the meeting were established the core tasks for the next period: the high level of cooperation and resolving the difficulties encountered in the working process.
