Activities carried out on juvenile crime prevention held at the "O. GHIBU" High School in Orhei city

On May 23, 2014, the probation counsellors from Orhei organized within the "O.GHIBU" High School an informative educational activity entitled "The purpose of probation. Probation subjects. The consequences of antisocial behaviour".

The lesson was attended by the pupils of VI^th class. Children were informed about the purpose and probation subjects and explained on the concept of the "juvenile delinquency". They were informed about the legal provisions regarding the liability of minors and received some recommendations to avoid their involvement in various crimes.

Probation counsellors advised them to avoid circumstances that could bring in a position to commit an antisocial act, to choose their friends carefully, to be themselves, without trying to impress the gang leader, not retaliate to verbal aggression and to avoid physical aggression. Children were advised to spend their free time in a pleasant way, to practice sport, to avoid the company of friends who have inappropriate behaviour in society and do not respond to physical or verbal aggression. On the other hand, special attention was given to alcohol, drugs and ethno-botany plants, as young associates increasingly often these substances with new fun ways to become, without realizing dependent.

The activity was conducted in the form of interactive discussions with pupils, who were invited to express their opinion on issues of the on going activity. After this activity, the probation counsellors have found that pupils have understood the sent message and they hoped that in the future the pupils would be involved in preventing such violations in the school. At the end of the activity, the probation counsellor wanted the children to have a holiday filled with fun, relaxation and recreation activities and to return with new forces in the new academic year.
