International Documentary Film Festival CRONOGRAF- cycle of the movie debates f "Juvenile Justice"

Between 12 to 13 May 2016, the Free International University of Moldova (FIUM), the French Embassy in Moldova in partnership with Documentary Film Festival Chronograph (Moldova) and Training Centers in Active Education Practices (France) organized the Cycle of cinema debates on "Juvenile Justice". Over two days, three documentaries were shown, followed by debates with different themes.
The event was attended by the French experts: Eliane Luit - clinical psychologist, Juvenile Judicial Protection Department; Nahima Laiev - Education, Juvenile Judicial Protection Department; Jean-Jacques Yvorel - historian, researcher of the Center for Sociological Research on Law and Penal Institutions in France; as well as representatives of: the Ministry of Justice, National Probation Inspectorate, General Inspectorate of Police, the Prosecutor General, the Ombudsman, the Prisons Department as well as NGOs.
Ana Gutu - Prime rector of FIUM, Doctor in Romance Philology, University Professor, addressed a greeting word to the French visitors, participants from different institutions and thanked the National Probation Inspectorate for the assistance in organizing the event.
During the meeting, the French guests presented the following: the history of children in need; monitored education; educative practices; powers of judges in child protection; types of protection (administrative and judicial); hazards and risks of the deviant behavior; assistance; measures of education of children and families; main issues in delinquency prevention; debate on the pre-trial stage; measures of punishment; length of sentence; prisons; educational institutions; hospices; open environment assistance; adolescence; aggression of minors; cases monitoring; diagnosis of the delinquent behavior from the early age until the adolescence; as well as criminogenic potential.
In turn, Eliane Louit mentioned: "When we make the diagnosis we must be careful of the childs attitude and behavior and the conflict relationships with other peers and family".
However, the representative of the Directorate for Protection of Child Rights, region RîÅŸcani - Sergiu Oceretnii noted: "At the moment we have no spaces where to place the children from socially vulnerable families, and thanks to the collaboration with the Probation Service, children are assisted and re-socialized".
We note that the event participants mentioned the need to set up some counseling centers for children and families in Moldova, rehabilitation centers and distributing the documentaries watched during the event in the general schools and high schools.
